I thought I would share with you a little painting I did of my favorite thinking chair from my vacation in Maine.
It was really difficult to tear myself away from this green chair for the view from it of Rockport Harbor was beautiful.
I didn't want to let it slip from my memory. I just had to paint it.
We were in Maine for several weeks. each week we rented a different house in a different location along Maine's gorgeous coast. We found all three place through VRBO, Vacation Rental By Owner. We have used that sight many, many times over the years and have never been disappointed when trying to find a vacation spot. If you would like to find out more about this particular gem of a place in Rockport, click here.
This house happened to be just a few steps from Rockport Harbor and also the photo school I told you about that I had attended when I was younger. Walking on the very same surfaces I had walked on before "my life" took over, was a bizarre experience. I could not have imagined, back then, where I would be today.
It makes me think that it is pointless to fret about the future, its course will be run no matter how much I stress out about it today. This house was LOADED with thinking chairs. I have to tell you that the combination of fantastic views, both outside and inside this home, the plethora of places to perch, and the fact that because it wasn't mine and I didn't have to tend to any responsibilities, made this the ideal vacation spot. If I win the lottery, I would like to buy it.

Wow! So much to take in while sitting in those thinking chairs.
We certainly do waste time worrying about the future. Between those energies and the ones spent kicking ourselves over lost opportunities in the past, it's amazing if we get anything done in the present.
I'm glad you painted your thinking chair. It's a great memory to keep in your sketchbook.

I was just sitting here sewing buttons on some bloomers, and thinking about how you are doing today. Then I saw your post and got happy that you had another one up. Hopefully later today I will do a post on the two items I just finished.
Caitlin and I are on day four of our "operation slim down," and at this very moment I'm "shark tanking" majorly!! Shark tanking is a term my sister came up with, which means that you are so hungry that you are swimming around looking for food like a shark!!!
How are you holding up?
I love your post, as it fits the mood I am in today :)

You could really go places in that chair.
All the books, sketches, dreams - anywhere would be possible, and you could stay seated the whole time!
What a wonderful place and space to be - I'm so glad you shared.
Right now it's pitch black outside with torrents of rain and wind rattling the window by me as I type. Sunny toes in Maine is what I'm dreaming of....
Must catch up with the rest of your blog,
Cheers,
Cindy

Idyllic. Just idyllic. I would have been rooted to that chair my whole visit, surrounded by my knitting. That's my ideal holiday these days, a comfortable chair and a beautiful view, accompanied by a good book and my knitting or crochet. Your photos are just wonderful. Sigh. I would love to be in your place! Vanessa xxx
