Yes I had oranges for breakfast.
I have started a new on-line course in hopes of learning how to find my groove and sketch daily in a journal. The course is Sketchbook Delight, and it is being taught by Alisa Burke. I am taking the virtual class with a virtual friend, Melissa P. of the blog 100 Billion Stars. Although Melissa says she doesn't draw or paint, she does absolute wonders with fabric and I think that will carry over to her sketchbook.
Here are the results from this morning's first attempts:
It is a very dark, rainy day outside, otherwise I would have photographed this with daylight. Even though it was dreary and depressing outside, I was glad I could start my day out with something colorful instead.
Oh this is so fun, so we get to see a sketch EVERY day! You are off to a great start. Can't wait to see more.

Don't get ahead of me there, Alicia. This is just day one. It is really comforting, though, to know that all you are doing a sketch - it definitely takes the pressure off since your not even trying for a masterpiece. I keep checking your blog to see the progress on your piece. Carolina

Yikes!!! I'm already behind! I got as far as watching all of lesson 1 videos and corralling my supplies. Which I think is going to be a blog post all on its own. Stay tuned! And thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping me on task here.

I have had an orange every morning before even stepping out of bed since becoming pregnant as its the only thing that seems to work for my prolonged morning sickness... but I never once thought of turning it into a piece of art! Well done, I love your sketch, it is so vibrant and lovely and makes me mouth water thinking of the juicy flesh!!

This is so beautiful, Carolina! I love the boldness and colours paired with the black script! This really makes one appreciate the little things! :-)
